NO TITLE

The Florida Marlins are a professional baseball team based in Miami Gardens, Florida, United States. Established in 1993 as an expansion franchise, the Marlins are a member of the Eastern Division of Major League Baseball's National League. The Marlins play their home games at Land Shark Stadium, also home to the Miami Dolphins and the Miami Hurricanes. The Marlins are notable for winning the World Series twice (1997, 2003) in the only two times they've made it to the postseason. They have never won first place in their division, advancing to the playoffs both times as the National League Wild Card winner. They are the only team to date to have won all of their postseason series. In recent years, the Marlins ownership pushed for a new stadium and recently agreed to a plan with Miami-Dade County commissioners and the city of Miami to build a $515 million ballpark on the site of the legendary Miami Orange Bowl. As part of the deal, the Marlins in the future will be known as the "Miami Marlins." Their final season in Miami Gardens will be the 2011 season. The Marlins name originates from the fish species, and from Miami's former minor league team of the same name. The team is nicknamed "The Fish." (via Wikipedia)
